About Us

Welcome to the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod’s website!

The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) has been providing comfort care and services to people living with HIV/AIDS for over 30 years.  ASGCC’s roots are in Provincetown when in 1983 a group of community members came together to respond to the arrival of AIDS on our shores.  As the epidemic continued to spread the then Provincetown AIDS Support Group grew and in 2001 merged with two other Cape Cod based organizations – the Upper Cape AIDS Network and CARES – to create the current organization.  Today ASGCC services individuals and families from all across Cape Cod and on Martha’s Vineyard.  We also work closely with the Nantucket Access Network to ensure that we have comprehensive HIV/AIDS services throughout the entire Cape and Islands.  In 2013 ASGCC commemorated our 30th year of providing services on Cape Cod.

Our direct services include extensive case management, transportation assistance, access to food and nutrition services and whole range of other services to help people with HIV/AIDS lead healthy lives.  Our food services include a monthly food pantry box program from our Hyannis that allows clients to prepare meals for themselves in their own homes.  In Provincetown we have a daily congregate lunch program and also deliver meals to clients who are unable to come to the agency themselves.

In addition to our client services we provide a full range of Prevention and Screening services.  These services include providing lifesaving information as well as testing and screening for HIV/AIDS and many other sexually transmitted infections.  Through our outreach programs the Prevention team reaches over 100,000 residents and visitors each year.

Another important service we provide is access to housing.  We hold a significant number of housing vouchers to help people find safe and stable housing.  These vouchers are fully utilized so they become available rarely.  We also operate a 10-unit congregate housing program located in Provincetown.  This is the only housing program on Cape Cod that focuses on providing housing to homeless individuals with HIV/AIDS.

We hope you find our website helpful.  You can also keep up with us at the “AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod” Facebook page.

If you are in need of our services or have questions or concerns about HIV/AIDS please contact us.  We will be happy to help!
