ASGCC’sAIDS Memorial Quilts Exhibition Returns to Provincetown for Special JanuaryViewing

 Provincetown,MA – Thursday,January 8, 2026 – Due to overwhelming community interest following its WorldAIDS Day exhibition last month, the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod (ASGCC) willonce again present the AIDS Memorial Quilts in Provincetown for a special, freepublic viewing over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

 ASGCC’sAIDS Memorial Quilts Exhibitionwill take place at Provincetown Town Hall on Saturday, January 17, from12:00 noon to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, January 18, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.The exhibition is free and open to the public.

 This rareexhibition offers a unique opportunity to view multiple AIDS Memorial Quiltstogether in Provincetown, a firsthand view of local history. For many communitymembers and visitors, this may be the only opportunity to experience theseQuilts locally and in person.

 “We weremoved by the tremendous response to our showing of these Quilts – the firsttime a collection of this size was gathered here in 25 years – at our WorldAIDS Day commemoration,” said Dan Gates, President and CEO. “By hosting thisone-time extension, we hope as many people as possible can join us as we honorProvincetown’s historic response to HIV/AIDS.”

 On displaywill be the original Provincetown AIDS Support Group Quilt, along with 9 additionalQuilts created in memory of Outer Cape community members who lost their livesto HIV/AIDS. Together, these Quilts tell a powerful, deeply local story – one rootedin love, loss, activism, and community resilience. ASGCC team members will beon hand to answer questions.

 At a timewhen stigma and discrimination are on the rise, this January exhibition servesas a continuation of the remembrance and reflection begun on World AIDS Day,offering additional time and space for individuals to engage with this history,honor those who were lost too soon, and recognize the historic communityresponse that helped define an era.
